Of Coats and Lunch

Of Coats and Lunch
On Thursday December 16, seven almost new coats found their way through the doors of St. Andrew's United in the arms of the Shared Abundance coordinator, Lizz.  Shared Abundance is the weekly lunch that is provided to the community at noon every Thursday.  The coats were a bonus, a gift from a government agency that no longer needed them.  They were beautiful, long and warm, hooded, with florescent stripes and corduroy collars.   Six of those coats found homes that day, warming the hearts and backs of six very grateful recipients.  Twice now, I have heard of sightings of those coats in our area of North Vancouver.   I see those coats as a symbol of our Thursdays.  It is an honour to witness the warmth of God's love wrapping us 'round in the relationships that are forming as we all get to live out Lizz's dream of good food and companionship.  Where will you be next Thursday at noon?  Why not join us?  We have our own coat of arms - feel the embrace....                                   Photo by:  http://www.flickr.com/photos/perspicacious/
